Our 15th Annual Reunion took place at the Falcon Hotel, Stratford-upon-Avon over the period 17-20th November 2010. Some eary-bird members arrived at the hotel for Wednesday and Thursday, with the main function day of Friday attended by 51 members and guests. The Friday morning session allowed members old and new to view the extensive display of memorabilia relating to Mauripur, Karachi, Jiwani, Drigh Road and other locations on the Indian Sub-Continent, covering the early 1930's through until the closure of Mauripur in 1957. Several aged and now frail photo albums were delicately perused by equally aged members, bring back some long forgotten situations/incidents. A tasty buffet lunch preceeded the afternoon session during which members viewed one of the films from the "Little Trains of India" series. Member Chris Morris gave two interesting presentations, the first a series of slides taken at previous reunions covering 14 years, 1996 to 2009. The second, again with slides, of the 1945 air route fron Lydd in Palestine through to Karachi showing the location of beacons, airfields and emergency landing grounds. The 1949 air traffic control map for the whole world was also viewed. The evening dinner/dance was the highlight of the weekend with members Mac and Tommie McEwen winning the star teddy bear prize. A lively SGM followed on the Saturday morning, 15 members and guests staying on at the hotel until Sunday. Next year's reunion has been booked for Friday 18th November 2011. Full details will be sent to members in August 2011.
